VMware Digital Workspace - (2) Connecting Workspace ONE UEM to a Workspace ONE Access Tenant

When the Workspace ONE Access Connector is integrated with Workspace ONE UEM, you get

identity-driven features such as mobile SSO, conditional access, people search, and the

browser-based app catalog.

  • To install the Workspace ONE Access Connector, we’re going to start out on the server where

we want to install the connector, and use the Workspace ONE Access console.

  • In the Workspace ONE UEM console, click the app launcher icon, sometimes called a waffle,

        and select Workspace ONE Access.

  • In the login prompt that appears, make sure System Domain is selected and enter the username

and password that you set up when you got your Workspace ONE Access tenant.

In all likelihood this is the same as your VMware account.

  • Click Sign-in.

  •  This is the Workspace ONE Access catalog portal that end users see.

  •  To get to the admin console, click the user account and select Workspace ONE Access Console.

  • Click the Identity & Access Management tab, and then click the Setup.

  • Click Connectors and click New.

If you’re using the new navigation, you would click the Integrations tab, and then

click Connectors in the left pane.

Select Workspace ONE Access Connector  and click OK.

  • Click PROCEED ANYWAY.

  • Now click GO TO MYVMWARE and that will open a new tab.

You might be prompted to log in to your VMware account.

  • Click DOWNLOAD NOW.

  • After the installer gets finished downloading, go back to the Workspace ONE Access console

        tab, and click NEXT.

Create a 14-character password for the configuration file that you are going to download.

The requirements are shown here in red.

  • Click DOWNLOAD CONFIGURATION FILE, and when that is done, click NEXT.

Copy Workspace ONE Access Connector to  the Windows Server where we want to install the connector and start the installer.

  • Click Run.

  • Click Next.

  • Agree to the license terms.

  • We’ll install all the components.

Here’s where you enter that password that you created for the configuration file you

downloaded earlier.

  • Click Next.

Use the Browse button to be sure you can select the domain and user.

The only special characters that the password may contain are the at sign, exclamation point,

and asterisk.

  • Click Next.

  • And click Install.

  • Click Finish.

Now, back in the Workspace ONE Access console, click CLOSE to complete the wizard.

Navigate back to the page, and if necessary, refresh it.

There is the newly added connector and the four services it’s running.
